The NY Skyscrapers held their semi-annual luncheon at the Montclair
Golf Club, in West Orange NJ, on Wednesday June 20th.
In attendance were: Ray and Sharon Amato, Winnie Balboni, Bob Beavis,

Traveling great distances to attend were:
Bob and Diane Fiedler from Florida, Dick Goudey from Florida, Ed

from Colorado, Ken and Kari Perkins from NH, Ab Rainbow from
Gettysburg, PA, Dick and Clare Strickland from Georgia, and George
Williams from Massachusetts.
Volunteers manning the welcoming desk included: Ken Ernst, Harry
Lloyd, and Jan Conover; and relieving them were Skip and Billie
Fairman, George Schnell, and Irv Soble.
A $450 contribution to the UNITED AIRLINES RETIRED PILOTS FOUNDATION,
INC. will be made from the net proceeds from the raffle, the luncheon
fee, and a cash contribution from Ray Furlan.
Raffle Prizes were contributed by Winnie Balboni, Skip and Billie
Fairman, Joan McIntosh, and Morrie Wiener.
Bob Beavis assisted with the raffle drawings.
Ab Rainbow, at 85, was the oldest person present, although Augie
Miller and Winnie Balboni were nipping at his heels.
We remembered fondly Frank Quinn who died in April, Chan Stoughton's
wife Mattie who died this past May, and Jim Hitchcock who died in June.
Our next luncheon will be held in Portchester, NY, in October 2007.
The JFK ANNUAL GOLF OUTING will be held on eastern Long Island around
October 4th, 2007... keep this date open.
A good time was had by all... and the food was great.

Socal RUPA Garden Lunch on June 6, 2007
The weather was picture perfect with few puffy clouds and mid 70's comfort. The event was held at Bob and Taywan's home in Villa Park, 50 miles SE of LAX and 40 miles NW of Dana Point.
Thanks to our very helpful co-hosts Bob and Janice Fuhrmann. Thanks also to Bob Brockmeier and Van Blake for providing the tables and chairs and managing the drink and ice supply.
The abundant and delicious main course buffet was presented by the Royal Thai Orchid Restaurant in Orange. During the four hour social gathering many friendly skies aviators became reacquainted with their friends and fellow employees of our airline. Some who worked in similar situations met here for the first time. We also had a very good showing of their supporters and their "significant others".
You could hear many conversations beginning with, "Remember that time when........", and "Did you hear the one about.......".
